Welcome to my home page. My name is Kristian Torp , I am an associated professor
at Aalborg University. I am with the
Department of Computer Science where I work in the
Database and Programming Technologies group.
My research interests are database performance, databases for moving objects, and
temporal databases.
Database and Oracle Technology
The following material can help you understand database and Oracle technology better.
- Introduction to the Oracle DBMS. An overview of the Oracle DBMS, e.g., tables, views, sequences, primary keys, and foreign keys.
- Introduction to PL/SQL An overview of stored procedures and packages in PL/SQL for persons with experience in another programming language such as C.
- Normal Form vs. Non-First Normal Form A comprehensive comparison of "flat" tables versus nested tables using the nested table facilities in Oracle.
- Triggers An overview triggers and how they can be used and managed, including instead-of triggers.
