Programming Language Support of Open Points

  In this section we will review some concepts from existing programming languages that to some degree fulfill the requirements of being open points of a program.

In most object-oriented programming languages there are concepts that approximate that of open points. In the following sections we will compare open points from above with mechanisms and concepts in the object-oriented languages Simula, Beta, Smalltalk, Loops, the Common Lisp Object System, and HyperTalk.
