XML Validation

The transformation functions can assume, as a precondition, that the source document is valid.

The transformation function guaranties, as a postcondition, that the target document is valid.

The impacts of the XML validation framework
- It is not necessary to program error handling functionality due to a malformed input document
- In case the transformation program attempts to construct a malformed output document, the transformation will fail
