The linked reading material is background material about Uppaal. We do not expect you to read everything on the list, but we recommend that you at least take a look at the two first papers (A Tutorial on UPPAAL and Timed Automata: Semantics, Algorithms and Tools). However, Joost-Pieter Katoens chapter 4 is also excellent reading for the semantics of timed automata.
