Specialization and current research interests:

Main fields: Models for concurrency. Models for probabilistic processes. Verification and implementation of distributed systems with emphasis on network protocols. Middleware for Cyber Physical Systems with focus on Home Automation. Industrial application of research results with special emphasis on automated analysis of resource optimization.

Other fields: Design methods for networks and embedded systems.


Current funded projects with a leading/coordinating role: InfinIT (a national Danish innovation network on embedded and pervasive systems, 2009-2018); IDEA4CPS (a Danish-Chinese basic research centre on the foundations for cyber-physical systems, 2011-2017); ARROWHEAD (FP7 ARTEMIS 2013-2017); TotalFlex (a large national Danish project on virtual market of energy, 2012-2016); MANTIS (H2020 ECSEL 2015-2018).


Relevant Industrial/Technological Development Work: A number of industrial collaborations on development and automated analysis of Cyber Physical Systems.


Fellowships and other professional appointments: Co-founder and Vice Director of CISS, Head of Computer Science Department, Aalborg University (1993-1998).
